SEBASTIAN MESCHENMOSER lebt und arbeitet als freier Bildender Künstler, Autor und Illustrator in Berlin. In seiner Malerei beschäftigt er sich mit dem Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Tier, von Künstlichkeit und Natur. Oft lassen sich literarische Referenzen herleiten oder Filmzitate erahnen. Die Eindrücke aus seinem Stipendium sommer.frische.kunst. in Bad Gastein beeinflussen bis heute sichtlich sein Schaffen. Berge als Modelllandschaften, verschobene Größenverhältnisse, verlassene und wiedergefundene Orte, unwirkliche Erscheinungen, prägen die Motivik.
KUNSTWANDERKARTE – Unter dem Motto „Art makes you see. Discover your way.“ schickt das Festival seine Gäste auf die Reise: auf die Suche nach Kunst und der ganz eigenen, persönlichen Kunsterfahrung und das zum ersten Mal mit einer KunstWanderKarte, entworfen und illustriert von Sebastian Meschenmoser, einem der erzählerischsten Maler seiner Generation. Mit der KunstWanderKarte werden 15 Stationen erwandert – von Kunst im Ortskern, über die Kaiser-Wilhelm-Promenade und ganz hoch hinauf nach Sportgastein. Dort erwartet Besucher*innen unter anderem die spektakuläre Fachwerkskulptur „Harfen“ von Olaf Holzapfel sowie die Installation „In the name of a day“ von Kazunori Kura.
SEBASTIAN MESCHENMOSER lives and works as a freelance visual artist, author, and illustrator in Berlin. In his paintings, he explores the relationship between humans and animals, artificiality and nature. Literary references can often be inferred, or film quotes can be glimpsed. The impressions from his sommer.frische.kunst. scholarship in Bad Gastein continue to visibly influence his work to this day. Mountains as model landscapes, shifted proportions, abandoned and rediscovered places, and unreal phenomena shape the motifs.
KUNSTWANDERKARTE – Under the motto „Art makes you see. Discover your way.“ the festival sends its guests on a journey: in search of art and their very own, personal experience of art, and for the first time with the KunstWanderKarte, designed and illustrated by Sebastian Meschenmoser, one of the most narrative painters of his generation. With the KunstWanderKarte, 15 stations are hiked – from art in the village centre to the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Promenade and all the way up to Sportgastein. There, visitors can see the spectacular half-timbered sculpture „Harps“ by Olaf Holzapfel and the installation „In the name of a day“ by Kazunori Kura.
