Paula Baader wurde 1988 in Hamburg geboren und lebt und arbeitet in London und Hamburg. Als kritische Beobachterin überträgt die Künstlerin ihre eigene, subjektive Sicht ihrer unmittelbaren Umgebung auf die Leinwand. Sie übersetzt konkrete, ortsspezifische Assoziationen, Erinnerungen und Aufnahmen in zarte, abstrakte Bilder, die ebenso strukturiert wie komplex erscheinen. Ihre Werke stellen sowohl Dokumentation als auch Arbeitsmedium dar. Darin erkundet Paula Baader nicht äußere, starre Erscheinungen; ihr Fokus liegt auf den individuellen Charakteristika der betreffenden Räume und Orte, den zugrunde liegenden Rhythmen – etwas, das man wirklich nur durch den zeitlichen Prozess des physischen Durchwanderns erleben kann.
