Katrin Kampmann wurde 1979 in Bonn geboren, sie lebt und arbeitet seit 2000 in Berlin. Von 2001 bis 2006 studierte sie an der Universität der Künste (UdK) Malerei bei Prof. K.H. Hödicke und wurde nach ihrem Meisterschüler-Abschluss im Jahr 2006 mit dem Meisterschülerpreis geehrt. Katrin Kampmanns Bildauffassung folgt einem Glauben an das Poetische und Außergewöhnliche, das Unerreichbare. Ihre künstlerischen Vorstellungen sind ausgerichtet auf das Erforschen und Einsenken in die Tiefenstruktur unserer Psyche, unseres kulturellen Daseins. Gestik, Leichtigkeit und Ausdruck werden damit Teil einer malerischen Erdungsphase.

Katrin Kampmann was born in Bonn in 1979 and has lived and worked in Berlin since 2000. From 2001 to 2006, she studied painting at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) with Professor K.H. Hödicke and after completing her master class in 2006 was awarded with the “Meisterschülerpreis” award. Katrin Kampmann’s pictorial approach is based on a belief in what is poetic, extraordinary, and inaccessible. Her artistic ideas are focused on the exploration of and immersion in the deeper layers of our psyche, our cultural existence. Gestures, lightness, and expression thus become part of a painter’s phase of grounding herself.
