Xenia Lesniewski

Xenia Lesniewski (*1985) ist eine multidisziplinäre Künstlerin. Sie studierte Malerei und experimentelle Animation bei Judith Eisler an der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien und Visuelle Kommunikation an der Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach. Ihr Werk umfasst Malereien, Videos, Installationen, kollaborative Projekte, performative Situationen sowie eine kuratorische Praxis. Ihr Schaffen bewegt sich an der Schnittstelle von Kunst und Leben sowie in der Auseinandersetzung mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen und dem öffentlichen Raum. Widersprüche des neoliberalen Zeitalters stehen für sie genauso im Mittelpunkt wie eine prozessorientierte, interdisziplinäre Arbeitsweise.

Instant Solutions

Angesiedelt zwischen Bestattungsinstitut, Reisebüro und Concept Store umkreist Lesniewski’s Projekt INSTANT SOLUTIONS den Tod als universelles und traditionelles Thema der bildenden Kunst sowie des Alltags. In einer räumlich verschränkten Präsentation von multimedialen Werken wird der gesellschaftliche Umgang mit Tod und Sterben auf feministische, provokante und auch humorvolle Weise zur Diskussion gestellt. INSTANT SOLUTIONS versteht sich als Raum, der Fragen aufwirft und verschiedene Ebenen unserer Sepulkralkultur, soziale Elemente sowie künstlerische Betrachtungsweisen vereint.

Xenia Lesniewski (*1985) is an ultra-contemporary, multidisciplinary artist. She has studied painting and experimental animation with Judith Eisler at the University of applied Arts Vienna and Visual Communication at Hessen State University of Art and Design Offenbach. Her work includes videos, paintings, installations, collaborative projects, performative situations and curatorial practice. Between funeral home, travel agency and concept store her project INSTANT

SOLUTIONS revolves around death as a traditional theme of visual art as well as everyday life. With the use of spatial installations and performative staging of multimedia works, the exhibition questions society’s approach to death in a provocative, feminist and humorous way. INSTANT SOLUTIONS sees itself as a space that raises questions and brings together different levels of our sepulchral culture.
