Wang Jixin wurde 1966 in Rizhao, in der Provinz Shandong in China geboren. 1993–1994 Studium am Institut für Ölmalerei an der Zentralen Nationalen Akademie der Schönen Künste in Peking. Ausstellungen in Taiwan, Südkorea, USA, Deutschland, Holland und Österreich. Er lebt und arbeitet seit 2013 in Salzburg.
Nach seinem kurzen Aufenthalt in Bad Gastein im Oktober 2020 schafft er Papierarbeiten und Ölbilder, die dort leerstehende Hotelbauten und die besondere architektonische und geographische Situation des Alpenortes interpretieren. Mit der Malerei werden Fotografien, die in Leerständen und auf Spaziergängen bei Regen und Hochwasser in Bad Gastein aufgenommen wurden, gezeigt.
Wang Jixin beschäftigt sich seit mehr als 15 Jahren mit aufgelassenen Gebäuden, zuerst im chinesischen Porzellanzentrum Jingdezhen, 2019 mit dem Ende der Salzproduktion in Hallein, aktuell in der Serie „The Lost Glory – Bad Gastein“.
Wang Jixin was born in 1966 in Rizhao, Shandong Province, China. From 1993 to 1994 he studied at the Institute of Oil Painting at the Central National Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. Exhibitions in Taiwan, South Korea, the USA, Germany, Holland and Austria followed. Since 2013 the artist lives and works in Salzburg.
After a visit to Bad Gastein in October 2020, Wang Jixin created works on paper and oil paintings that reflected the special architectural and geographical situation of the Alpine resort. His paintings feature photographs taken of vacant hotel buildings and on walks during rain and floods in Bad Gastein.
His passion for abandoned buildings has occupied Wang Jixin for more than 15 years. He first devoted himself to it at the Chinese Porcelain Center Jingdezhen. Since 2019, he followed his passion in Hallein, Austria, where the local production of salt has been terminated. Currently, he shows matching works of the series „The Lost Glory – Bad Gastein“.
