Multimediale Installation

Polly Lapkovskaya’s work is reminiscent of an illustrious circle of friends, united in only one person, the artist. In her hometown of Minsk (Belarus), Polly Lapkovskaja began a career as a pianist as a child. After moving to Germany, she studied jazz double bass and immerses herself in the music scene. She sings and plays bass in various bands like Kamerakino and Munk. With her band POLLYESTER she releases three albums and tours in EU, USA, UK and Asia. As co-initiator of the collective ZOMBOCOMBO, she has been organizing monthly happenings for over eight years, holding up a mirror to Munich and its scene with extensive performances.
For more than 15 years, Polly Lapkovskaja has been creating musical concepts for plays at renowned theater houses in German-speaking countries and abroad. She composes, conducts, produces and performs on stage. She is part of the Political Voice Institute at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin. Polly Lapkovskaja researches the field of tension between language, voice, political presentation and society. In her works, Polly Lapkovskaja questions all the disciplines she explores, and a multimedia installation of the same kind is being created for the sommer.frische.kunst.
